Dear Strangers (&friends),

I’m writing with the somewhat unbelievable news that I have a new book coming out! It’s been more than a decade since I’ve had the privilege of writing that sentence and I’m brimming with delight. What a strange thing to embark on a life of writing—even stranger to have had ample success as a youngster and then a period of quiet as a midster when it seemed as though the world of publishing had changed so much and/or perhaps I had changed so much that we were no longer compatible.

This new book is a collection of short fiction. We Are All Having Fun Here are the stories I wrote when I imagined that my era of publishing might be over. These are the stories of girls who are finding their way and women who are losing theirs.

The collection was selected as the winner of the 2025 Slice Short Story Collection Contest and as a result is being published by the amazingly dedicated team at Fork Apple Press on February 24, 2026.
