why children shouldn't parent themselves
After many requests, I gave in and let E watch Edward Scissorhands. She's a lover of Tim Burton, full of dark humor. Case in point:
This is a recent scene in her room. Goth Barbie loving a skeleton. She's ready for Edward Scissorhands, right? Wrong. Very wrong. Many tears. Forever changed. Sadness for poor Edward like I've never seen. A deep sorrow for his solitude and fierce anger for the awful neighbors and grotesque boyfriend. Never let me watch another PG-13 movie, Mom, she said with tear-filled eyes. Yes, ma'am, I said, chagrined.
Totally different, but Adam thinks Cars is scary.
